Multitasking - A lesson in disguise

Updated: Dec 5, 2021

Multi-tasking taught me that multi-tasking at times is no good.

Exactly a month ago, I decided to take up a lot of things. Writing, making videos, working, going for a run and even helping mom with household work. I wanted to do everything at the same time and feel good about myself. But, wait. Here's what happened.

I woke up one day with a lot of anxiety. My hands and legs were paining and I could hardly move. I had in my mind - do lots of things and feel good. By night, I was almost in tears because I was underperforming during the day, simply to over-perform the feel-good cells of my brain. I fell flat. Something needed a fix.

I realised that taking up too much was serving no good. Maybe doing small tasks with 100% concentration and focus could make me stay energised, both when I wake up and during the day.

Turns out, it worked pretty well for me. My mantra was simple - do one thing, but do it with all your heart. In no time, I started to notice changes, and trust me, those changes were good.

I won't say that every morning when the sun rises, I feel absolutely perfect, but to me, perfect is being yourself and knowing what's good for you. When something doesn't fit in your life anymore, don't be afraid to say goodbye.

Wait for it, your hello might be just round the corner.
