What growing up feels like

Haven't we had a conversation once with our friends or with our family about our good old childhood days? Well - I have that quite often these days.

I think it's because we love how simple life was and there wasn't much to worry about when it came to friendships, relationships or even our careers.

As we all grew up, we started to understand the world around us and how we're now part of the journey of heartbreaks, disappointments and occasional failures. It all started to get messy and complicated until we all started to find our own way of figuring things out along the way.

Growing up isn't just about adding a number to your age - it's more about those experiences and those bit and pieces along the way. This is what growing up feels like to me these days:

  1. It gets tough before you learn: We're all meant to learn life in our own way; and it gets tough before you know what fits in your life and what doesn't anymore. Take it as it is.

  2. You're braver than you think you are: We feel like we need people around us all the time to comfort us. But, in my experience, being your own supporter can bless you in ways you never had thought of.

  3. Trust the process: We all want answers to our never ending questions. Maybe it's about trusting on what life has to offer us rather than rushing the process.

  4. Be grateful for what you had, have, and will have: I've started to understand that thanking the universe makes us move towards more compassion, love, and fulfilment. Be grateful for where you are and you'll never have a day of compromised happiness.

We're all sailing through the highs and lows and trying to understand what life is all about. But in my experience, growing up doesn't need to be difficult - it's more about understanding that we're given this journey to make it a beautiful version of our whole life, filling it with moments of love and happiness, and enjoying the occasional failures.

This is what growing up feels like. What would you add?
