The 3 things that changed me over the years

We're never the same person. If you compare yourself to who you were yesterday, you'd probably understand that with each passing day, we learn something new about ourselves.

Over the years, I've lived at different places, met countless people and collected memories of a lifetime. This just didn't teach me about impermanence, I also learnt that experiences have a powerful way of transforming our lives and our ideas of the world.

As I write this, I realized that I've changed so much in these past years; maybe for the good or maybe not. The 3 things that led me here -

  1. As I grew, so did my writing: I wouldn't lie - I'm always proud of my passion for writing and how it has been instrumental in making me the person I am today. It's my go-to when I feel inspired, motivated or I want to live on to make a difference. It has made me become relatable over the years and showed me what strength looks like.

  2. The idea of self: There are times when we're all afraid of being alone and not having enough people by our side. What I've come to know is that we don't need too many people around us to cherish the moments or even be brave. We're enough for ourselves; and the day I understood this is the day I knew what bravery is.

  3. Being grateful, each and every day: I didn't know the concept of gratefulness until 2020 - when covid swept us all and I didn't know what to be thankful for. Over these 4 years, on days when my life doesn't feel enough, I pull out a pen and a paper and write down all the things that I have and how they make my life beautiful. There is always something to be grateful for.

We may not be 'there' but I always wonder if 'there' is a destination or a journey that needs to be experienced in full. A few stops along the way and with a passion of making a difference, I've come to the conclusion that no matter what change looks like, it would be confusing at first but it will all make sense, if not today, then someday.

Keep going. Your story will be worth the talk.
